Tuesday night Knitting- with a quilt to keep you warm

There were five of us at knitting tonight. Jill was there, we had not seen her for quite some time. Lora, Jill says "Hi".

She brought some show and tell. Jill made the quilt out of her husband's running t-shirts. All of the shirts are from Kentucky Derby running events. She did a wonderful job!





Holly is finished with the front and back of her sweater. She worked on the sleeves this evening. We can't wait to see the finished sweater. It is going to be gorgeous!


Loretta is on a dishcloth kick and started a new one this evening. She is helping me with my garterlac dishcloth. I am a little stumped so she sent me home with her finished one so I can compare the two. I should able to get mine figured out this week.


Tabitha is working on a baby blanket and thinking about Christmas knitting. I need to do more than start "thinking" about Christmas knitting. I need to get the needles moving.
It is almost time to start ordering hot drinks. I may have had my last mocha freeze last night.

FO Friday

You all have been very good waiting all day to see my FOs. Hope it was worth the wait.


I made some items that were used at an LLL function. The reversible bear bib, the pumpkin hat and a wonderfully soft Malibrigo baby hat. They were among some items in the raffle.

I made my pumpkin hat with a brown top and stem. Most of the pumpkin patterns I saw had green stems and or leaves. We all know that after the pumpkin is picked the stem is no longer green.

The Malibrigo colorway is citrus. I love this yarn, it is so soft.
I can't bring myself to show the gold boa. Here is the silver one mid process on Olivia's wonder knitter. While working on both boas, I kept thinking that no self-respecting knitter would be seen knitting metallic "disco" fun fur type yarn on a wonder knitter. The things you will lower yourself to do for your kids. The boas went in the 4th grade "girl's fun basket".

size. The bear is wearing a 6-12 month size.

These are two of the dishcloths that went to the kindergarten kitchen basket. I did my first crocheted edge on the dishcloth below. It is a picot edge.

Dogs on Thursday

The Bassets next door.

These two boys are Hutch and Starsky's neighbors. The four of them stand at the corner where the yards meet and bark.

Look what Starsky has done to my fancy boy. That is dog slobber.







They are loving this cooler weather. Spending most of the day outside, only coming in after the kids come home from school

Hi, trying to play catch up

Yes I am still kicking. The past week or so has been a real bear. This week is not looking that great either. I will say that Autumn has finally arrived in the Ohio valley. I am just loving it.
I kept Olivia home from school today and the nurse called about 1:00 to say that Eli was in her office sick. So I have two kids bundled up in recliners watching Zaboomafoo.
I have been knitting, getting all of the goodies finished for the Fall Festival at the school.

Tuesday night knitting- Loretta is planing some dishcloths for friends, Tabitha is knitting away on a seed stitch baby blanket and Holly, she is flying along on her incredible sweater. Sorry no photos for ya'll.

I frogged it- yes I did, those two stitches were just too much for me. I replaced that dishcloth with two quick ones.

Some of you will not be surprised

I frogged it.

Talk me down.

I will not rip it out and start over. It is just a dishcloth. I will not rip it out. No one will notice but me. I am not even keeping it. It's just two little stitches. It is fine the way it is. I have a lot of things to get knitted before Wed. the 10th. I will not rip it out.

At least I think I won't.

It could only have happened at Wal-Mart

On Saturday I took my three and my nephew shopping at Wal-Mart. Alex had a gift card to spend. Eli and Trey were in the cart and Olivia and Alex were looking at some clothes about 6 -8 feet in front of me. They came rushing back and said that a man was on the floor and scared them. Not knowing what kind of perv might be trolling the boys dept of Wal-mart, I went to check it out. I looked around the corner and there was a young man with a beard and ball cap, down on his hands and knees watching. I somewhat loudly asked "what are you doing, are you hiding from someone? You really scared my children!" He looked at me and whispered "Mam, I am store security." I took a few steps back and it did seem that he was watching a woman try clothes on a young boy.

I don't know if I blew his cover or what, but when you scare my children I am going to call you out.
