Wedding Song
True Companion ~Marc Cohn
What were you doing 12 years ago today? Do you remember?
Well on December 10 1995 I was getting married. This is the song I walked down the aisle too.
I loved our wedding with the Christmas decorations, and cake with poinsettias on it. But I would never suggest getting married in December. I had nightmares that we had a blizzard and no one came to the wedding. It did snow a little bit and was very cold. We have never really had a honeymoon, too close to Christmas . We had a dessert reception. It was wonderful, milk, coffee and a keg were next to the chocolate, pies, fudge, cookies and cheesecake.
This is the first year we have not watched our wedding video and put up the Christmas tree. We have always put our tree up on our anniversary. Due to some issues over the past couple weeks I am not sure if we are even going to have a tree this year. But on the other hand I am letting others ruin a beautiful tradition. Wait, I am not turning this into a downer, this is a happy post.
Happy Anniversary John, you still are my true companion.
Happy Anniversary to two wonderful friends!!
ReplyDeleteIt is so GREAT to hear from you! That is a beautiful song! Congrats to you and John. I hope your Christmas troubles get better, but just hug each other really tight in the meantime.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! And do what you feel like doing about Christmas and the tree. Sometimes, going through the motions can put you in a better frame of mind, but other times, it only makes it worse, so do what's right for you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!!! 12 years, you guys rock!!!! I love the song!
ReplyDeleteThe holidays can be rough, but do what makes you happy, and don't worry about the rest :)
Happy Anniversary!! I'm planning a december wedding but in Florida so I don't think it will snow. :) I love the song. We have a year to pick one for our wedding. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season and things get better.
ReplyDeleteHello, friend! I'm glad to hear from you, though I fear there is something yucky going on in your life. Whatever it is, I hope it passes quickly and you can have a wonderful Anniversary and Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! 12 years is a milestone.
ReplyDeleteTwelve years ago we moved into our first home. Trinket was a young pup, and not to far from where we live now, Bucky was barely five weeks old. We would meet the pug a month later.
Happy Anniversary!! Love the Song!! Hope today is a better day for you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful song and post. Gives me chills and not because of the weather. From another with a Dec anniversary.
ReplyDeleteH.A. chickee! that song played at our wedding too. Killer.
