A random post

Awhile back I won a blog contest. Here is a pic of the wonderful goodies that were my prize. Yes, that is Creatively Dyed yarn.
Thank you so much Chan!!

Here are two cloths that I have finished. They are both for soap & cloth swaps on Ravelry. I have some really nice cloths that have been sent to me.

Some knitters from Tuesday night knitting.

I came home from knitting and found some very unhappy people. The baby robin died this evening. I'm not sure what else we could have done. The bird seemed fine today, ate worms and some strawberries.

It is so hard to explain something like this to kids. Both Alex and Eli had become very attached to the bird.

Wild Kingdom....sorta

It's a regular Wild Kingdom around here lately. The baby robin was brought to us yesterday by the neighbor boy. He found it in his yard , looked everywhere for a nest but could not find one. John and the kids are having a great time feeding it and helping it learn to fly. They have named him George. I have learned a little about baby birds. Not only do they eat worms but you can feed them blueberries and strawberries.
I have no desire to hold, pet or be near it. I hope it learns to fly soon.
The groundhog was found in our neighbor's backyard. It was really neat to see it close up. Not as cute as a raccoon or as creepy as an opossum.

2009 Pee Wee Division Champs

What fun we all had!
The team had 19 wins and 2 losses. The final game was a nail biter, but we won 12-11. All of the drills and running to the wall had paid off. All the boys improved and some may have a future in the big leagues.
I am so happy that our first experience with organized sports turned out so well. I know it can be hit or miss getting the right coaches and fellow parents. Elliot had a great time and wants to play again.

The big trophy in the last picture is the coach's.

School days

School has been out for about a week now. We are taking it slowly but soon will come up with some fun things to do. During the last week of school there was DARE graduation, 5th grade science fair and 1st, 3rd and 5th grade awards day. In the last 4 days of school I had to attend 5 events. It was hectic but look at those smiling faces.

I will have more for you later. I have been under the weather myself so I have gotten very behind on some things.
