How many have you read?

The Big Read is an NEA program designed to encourage community reading initiatives and of their top 100 books, they estimate the average adult has read only six.

  1. You are more 'well read' than I am LOL

Something about the terms 'classic' and 'masterpiece' just turns me off completely. Now had that list been made up of oh, say horror, I think I would have fared better. :)

    Have an osm day!

  2. I've only read 35 from this list. I guess I get away from the computer and pick up a book.

  4. I like these lists as a way to pick up ideas of what to read next. But I always wonder what exactly are the criteria for putting a book on a list like this...some don't seem to exactly fit!

I only fared a bit better than you. I've read 25. About 15 more are on my shelves waiting in line, but I'm amazed how many I haven't heard of.

  5. I have read 30, that I remember. There are a few other titles I think I read in high school, but I didn't feel it was right to count it if I couldn't even remember the story line. Interestingly, either I read them in high school, or I have recently read them in my thirties. Nothing in between.
