Here's the rest of the story (day)

I found a basket weaving class.
Here it is later that day.
Rows and rows of fiber for wet felting, needle felting or spinning.
Look at that wonderful yarn just hanging there waiting for the right person to come along, and turn it into something amazing.
Here she is spinning the wonderful bunny fur that you saw in yesterday's post

I just love the wet felted white wine cozies. Wet it, ring it out and shape over wine bottle then put in freezer. After it is frozen put it over your opened bottle of white wine. Your wine will stay chilled.

The Circular Sock Machine was very cool. This was the first time I had seen one. By the end of the day he had an almost completed sock.

I did not go too crazy because I am heading to New Hampshire in two weeks and I will need a few dollars to spend there.

This mound of softness is 100% Alpaca. I have about 400 yards. It can be hard to find alpaca in manly colors. I hope to get two scarves out of this, for Christmas presents.

I have bought my first lace weight yarn. 630 yards of Zephyr (JaggerSpun) 50% Merino Wool, 50% Chinese Tussah Silk in Violet and 630 yards of the same in Ice blue. I also got 560 yards of JaggerSpun Heather 100% Wool in Dewberry. I am looking forward to making some lace scarves from Wrapped in Comfort.

When you come in there is an information booth with maps and activity times. You can also fill out a ticket for a raffle. They will pull tickets throughout the day and write the winning names on a large board. Towards the end of the day I went to take a look. I saw the name Sonya Baldwin up there. I must have had a strange look on my face because the lady asked if i was a winner. I said I'm not sure, that is my first name and that is my maiden name. Could there be someone here with my same name? I preceded to say stuff like, well that would be crazy, I wonder who it could be, I can't believe someone is here with my name. Or you know I could be crazy and wrote the wrong name down. The lady dug the names out of the trash, luckily they were laying right on top. Yep, that is what I had done. Wrote the wrong name. She smiled and kinda laughed and asked me how long I had been married. I did that kid thing, looked down a little, shuffled my feet and mumbled, almost 12 years. They all had a big laugh. The booths were close to each other, so I was the afternoon entertainment for about 6-8 people. The Mohair/Shetland wool blend yarn was my prize.

I should have stuck this with yesterday's post. The lady told me that all this fleece came from just one little ole' sheep. WOW!

I probably have little more but it will have to wait for another day.

  1. Very cool. And to me, that fleece at the end just wants to jump up and down and say all the things it could be when it grows up.

  4. Oh, I want a CSM so bad. . . maybe I could get out from under my stash of sock yarn that way! Are you going to be yarn shopping in NH or are you actually going to buy nonknitting things? I'm always shocked at how much I'll spend on yarn I really love but won't spend on other things. I never can talk myself out of buying yarn, though I can talk myself out of buying almost anything else.

  6. Don't worry... we all have those moments when we revert back to old information. I once told someone I was 8 years younger than I really was without realizing it until someone called my attention to it. Just don't tell your husband.
