Here is a little more info..
Thunder Over Louisville
We had wonderful weather all day Saturday. My parents brought my nephew Trey over and they spent the day hanging out. My brother Jason, his fiancee Becca and her son JT also spent the day with us. We grilled out, kids jumped and we watched planes fly over. When it got dark we walked down by the river and watched the fireworks.
Next Wednesday they will have The Great Steam Boat Race and Thursday the Derby Parade. All of this is leading up to the Kentucky Derby on May 5th.
Thunder over Louisville sounds a little like Mardi Gras, but maybe without the floats and beads. And the showing of *private parts*. And with fireworks, which is the one thing Mardi Gras is lacking. Sounds like you'll be having lots of fun. Hope the weather cooperates!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect weekend to me!
ReplyDeleteAw man am i getting homesick reading about the festivities!! So much fun, so many memories!!
ReplyDeleteOh and a note to Criquette...if you go to the right spots of festivities...you just MAY see some *private parts* LMAO! I remember as a kid going to Central Avenue (the street that Churchill Downs is on) the night before the BIG DAY and lemme tell ya... Drunks and people "showing themselves". My parents were so cool to expose us to that.... I think... LOL
The infield on Derby Day can be extremely wild. I went once and I never have to go again. There is a really bad story in there.
ReplyDeleteLook at those kids having a great time!
ReplyDeleteSooo cute!!!! How's the headband coming along? Did you see the new headband gallery on my blog? You could be next! (no pressure of course!) LOL!
ReplyDeleteHi Gina, it made me mad so I frogged all 11 inches. I can be a very critical knitter. Just ask Lora. I will cast on again tomorrow with different yarn.
