Trunk Show at the Possum
The kimono (着物, kimono?)[1] is the national costume of Japan. Originally the word "kimono" literally meant thing to wear (ki wearing and mono thing)[2] but now has come to denote a particular type of traditional full-length garment.
Knit Kimono was one of those books that I was not sure about. Nothing really appealed to me while looking through the book. Seeing the garments in person was a different experience. Some of them were gorgeous and others just made you wonder what they were thinking.
I love the buttons on this one.
The vest looked wonderful on. The full length blue one called for about 20 skeins of yarn.

They are lovely, but I couldn't wear one even if it was the prettiest thing in the world. Imagine, if you will, a sack of potatoes with a string in the middle.

I just picked that book up last week! I'm not sure if I'll wear any of the items but I really want to make some.
