It could only have happened at Wal-Mart

On Saturday I took my three and my nephew shopping at Wal-Mart. Alex had a gift card to spend. Eli and Trey were in the cart and Olivia and Alex were looking at some clothes about 6 -8 feet in front of me. They came rushing back and said that a man was on the floor and scared them. Not knowing what kind of perv might be trolling the boys dept of Wal-mart, I went to check it out. I looked around the corner and there was a young man with a beard and ball cap, down on his hands and knees watching. I somewhat loudly asked "what are you doing, are you hiding from someone? You really scared my children!" He looked at me and whispered "Mam, I am store security." I took a few steps back and it did seem that he was watching a woman try clothes on a young boy.

I don't know if I blew his cover or what, but when you scare my children I am going to call you out.

  2. Isn't this just like you to have an adventure even just going to Walmart? He could have been security...or he could have been a perv! Glad you blew his cover. BTW, I've added you to my Friends at Ravelry (where I am Criquette).

  3. how creepy....Did you go tell the store manager too just in case?? That just seems ODD to me. Why couldn't the guy just "shop" undercover??

  4. Walmart is always a crazy place to visit. ..and I've never heard of them having store security. In fact, I've always heard from past employees/managers that they will actually let you just take (small) stuff because it's cheaper than trying to deal with the shoplifting. That thought always surprised me, but I kept hearing it from different, nonrelated former employees.

  6. WTF?? Why does he have to be crouching on the floor? Don't they have security cameras?

Good for you for yelling at him, maybe he'll realize that what he was doing is so wrong.

  7. You had no choice but to blow his cover. Of course you're going to question some strange man crawling on the floor scaring kids! Good for you kids for alerting you to the potential pervert.

  9. The only thing that would have made me laugh harder would have been if you had bitch-slapped him.

  10. You absolutely did the right thing. And did he show his badge to verify who he was?

  11. It was getting close to 9:00 pm and the 4 and 5 year olds were getting restless, so I did not go talk to a manager. When I took those few steps back he was still on the floor. Now, there are several things I would have done in addition to just yelling at him.
I was kinda pleased with myself becasue I did not lose my temper.
