How do you entertain yourself in this heat?
Apparently Starsky entertains himself by riping tearing shredding and chewing my books. Three large coffee table books are destroyed and three other books are severely damaged. Including a 31 year old book that was my favorite as a child. He is taking them off of a low shelf. He has done this once before, but it was only one book. It 102 degrees right now. It is so very hot that I don't want to leave them outside for any length of time. I was only gone for about 1.5 hours. I guess we will be getting the crate back out and he can stay locked up. At this point I am so mad at him, I love dogs but they cannot destroy my stuff, especially books.
Oh no, Sonya. That sounds so frustrating! If this turns out to be a continuing bad habit, there's also the option of putting doors on the bookcases. I don't know how handy you and your hubby are, but it could work.
ReplyDeleteOOOO Starsky!!!!! You better not turn to yarn if Momma bans you from the book area!! You'll be banished to the laundry room forever!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Lora understands after the sock!
ReplyDeleteDang dogs!!!! Don't ya just hate it. I feel so sorry for you. I had a yorkie that tore up a really old gardening book that had been my grandfather's. :(
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah, and I meant to say, at least it wasn't any knitting or knitting books. ? :)
ReplyDeleteStinkin' dogs! I'm sure he gave you the little puppy eyes, it's definitely a love\hate relationship when they start tearing up your stuff. At least it wasn't something you knitted :) poor Lora :( I still can't get over that.
ReplyDeleteMy husband brought home the coolest set of wood cubbies for me to store my yarn. One day Frisky got bored while we were out and he dragged (and tangled) 2 skeins through the house. He also "ate" a set of bamboo circs. In the end I just had to put it all out of reach :) Sigh.
ReplyDelete:*( Sorry about your books.
ReplyDeleteHave you wilted yet?!?
Hope your weekend is wonderful!
Cris~
oh. no. ummm... go easy on him???? lol
ReplyDeleteUh oh. Starsky!!!
ReplyDeleteMy lab loves to rip up papers and books, too. She also takes things off shelves. Maybe it's a lab thing.
I'm so sorry to hear that your childhood book got ruined. Books are so precious.
Sorry about your books!
ReplyDeleteMy Lola used to do that... but only things from the coffee table... and only things that "didn't belong" - like napkins or something out of place...
